Wine festivals on the Moselle - a brief overview

Where there is singing, settle down peacefully,
without fear of what people believe in the country;
Where people sing, no one is robbed,
Evil people have no songs. ~ John Gottfried Seume

The wine festivals on the Moselle
The many wine festivals on the Moselle are based on an old tradition. From the early to mid-19th century, every wine village on the Moselle held many different wine festivals. In Wolf, for example, the church festival was held in May, as was the baking festival. Unfortunately, over the years, the number of these unique festivals has declined. Only the highlights of our Moselle region remain. In addition, the wine festivals in spring are the first opportunity to enjoy new wines from the previous year. In addition to wine, each winegrower offers specialities that are only available on these special days and are cooked or baked.
